About the Festival
Kensington Book Festival is a new community initiative bringing together residents, local authors and independent booksellers.
Its mission is Reading for Joy, a spirit that runs alongside the government's National Year of Reading, and reflects a belief that books build confidence, wellbeing and connection at every age, in every corner of the borough.
The initiative aims to celebrate literature, reading, and the written word in every form, promote community spirit and bring people together across the borough's diverse wards and thirdly to raise funds for the Glass Door Homeless Charity and community causes connected to its aims.
The Three Panels
The day will centre around three author panels:
Chapters of Hope - Mind, Body and Spirit
Chapters of Creation - Community and Connection
Chapters of Joy - Love Letters to Kensington
There is a story for everyone and a book from every genre. Authors will be in conversation about their journey as writers to published storytellers. A curated selection of books from the iconic Notting Hill Bookshop will be on sale at a special pop-up table.
Tickets are on sale at Eventbrite, on the Kensington Book Festival website, or in person at Our Lady of Victories Church on High Street Kensington on weekday or Sunday mornings. All are welcome.
